That and some of these guys are firm believers of martyrdom. They want to die for their beliefs. For one, as Cjanz has stated....it is not much of a punishment, let the criminals live with the consequences of their actions...make their life hell...make them wish they were dead.

But then there are those who are wrongfully convicted (however small the percentage....it does happen)

And I cannot see how people could be ok with condemning an innocent person...I now they aren't. So to allow the death penalty allows people who have commited horrible acts the freedom of any pain.....and it can at times cause an innocent person to lose their life.

The death penalty is not a fit punishment....and I am against the whole "He killed someone...so now he must be killed" It does not bring a loved one back....it only causes more pain. Even though a murderer is horrible, they have families to, and their families do not deserve to endure the same kind of pain.

A warm cell to sleep in for the rest of your life, a work out schedule, 3 meals a day, internet access, TV access. Ect...

Death is NOT a punishment...it is an escape.
HAving to live in a barred cell, with a sheet thin mattress, disusting food. and having to shower with other bigger guys who could own you.... is not a good enough punishment...but it is a hell of a lot worse than being put out of your misery early.

Meh, as far as I'm concerned, if they're not smart enough to see what the government's doin', keep 'em in the cell. If they do know what the government's doin' and they weren't trying to stop it, kill 'em.
