What are some of your favorite lyrics?

One of mine is at the beginning of The Faceless' instrumental, Akeldama.

The fears of mortality must be forgotten, no longer living for death, no longer trying to live. Existence and non-existence coagulating, safety found through ignorance, shackling human individuality.

They give the listener a lot to think about, because with it being an instrumental, they're the only lyrics you hear throughout the entire song.

Oh wow. I could write a whole book with lyrics. I like meaningful lyrics with plenty of meaning, but then there are lyrics from bands like The Acacia Strain that are just plain brutal. This is from Angry Mob Justice

Yes Comfortably Numb is awesome. Most of the songs on the Wall make no sense if you take them out of context of the album though but that's one of the few that does.

I would have to go with Keeper Better Get Ready by 2nd Wind which is my dad's old band which is still going on but my dad refused to return since he still has to raise me and doesn't waste his time chasing a dream which I think is stupid

I dunno if anyone's familiar with that song "Dare You to Move" by Switchfoot but that one line in there always gets me..."where can you run to escape from yourself?"

Yep yep, I do, in fact listen to a lot of Christian stuff. Blessthefall is one of my fav. bands (if you like Screamo).

Underoath is amazing. Their stuff is pretty powerful, even for a non-believer, lol.

With Blood Comes Cleansing is an amazing band, but their lyrics bother me sometimes. A lot of it is fine, like Abbaddon's Horde (apocalyptic pretty much. Like the locusts sent 'not to kill their victims, only to sting'), but stuff like Take Everything they seem a little weak ("God, you're all I have, take my everything. I owe it all to you"). You should be able to stand tall and proud, without relying on a "God" to give you strength, courage, whatever.

But now for another lyric I love by Southern 'core Every Time I Die in their song The New Black

The vocalist was an English professor. Seriously!
