I really have to ask, and please pardon my ignorance.

What is so enticing about comic books? I've just never really been drawn to them. What makes you enjoy them so much?

Why do I love comics? Here a few reasons why I love them:

1) The writing. I love good stories. I love stories with a good mixture of action, intensity, humor, character development, and a nice flowing plot. I can find this comic books. Well, some comic books. Not all comic books have great stories, lol. And you can easily see that several people are aware of the great quality stories that the world of comic books has to offer. Look towards Hollywood with TV Show and movies, they are beginning to use comics more and more to tell good stories.

2) I love that not only can I read the story as it is happening, but I can see it as well. I like reading books, but I prefer to read comics because of the art is has within it as well. I can read the story like a book, and also watch happen as a movie.

3) I am a big fan of the concept of "creative control." This is a big reason why I love professional wrestling as well. I love and I am amazed by the concept of being in control of what plays out. Controlling every little aspect of the story as it goes along, and planning what all happens. This is why I love games like RISK and EWR. You are in control and you get to make your own story. Watching people take these characters into storylines to entertain people easily entertains me.

4) The fact that it has its own world. This is why people watch movies, read books, watch tv shows, watch pro wrestling, and read comics. It is a story that isn't with the real life around us. If I am going through a rough, at least I know I can sit down and read about Rick Grimes and other survivors try to outlast what seems like an endless amount of zombies trying to eat them, or read about Batman kicking the crap out The Penguin.

Those are a few reasons why I love comics.

Oh yeah, they sales have been decreasing for awhile. Digital comics are slowly becoming more popular and used by big companies like DC and Comics. Another reason why comic sales have falling is also due to the recession. I don't think people that are struggling financially can afford to spend 10 to 20 bucks a month on comics. I think it will be years until we see our last actual comic book, or they won't become extinct, just brought down to a smaller scale.

I prefer holding a comic in my hands, it just seems right to me. But due to my current financial situation, I find myself downloading comics. I actually buy 3 comics a month: Batman, Walking Dead, and Batman and Robin. Everything else will be on the laptop.

This week's comic book guide by IGN.

The comics I plan to read from this week are:
GREEN LANTERN #63
SECRET SIX #31
THUNDERBOLTS #154

Not much this week, but I plan on ready the first 8 issues of the new X-Men volume that started in 2010.

And here is an interesting article on the new Superman movie, as it goes over who should be the villains.

Nice, I'm curious about the new Spiderman franchise. That will either be a complete turn-around and savior for the series in film, or it will flop. I hope it's the former.

I am looking forward to the franchise too. It looks good just from the photos and the cast. I don't see a problem with the new suit they have.

I am not a fan of digital comics. I don't know why but I find it annoying reading through them on a computer screen. That's the same reason why I hate reading books on the computer as well. That's more of a personal pet peeve though.
