Forget Punxsutawney Phil -- Madden 11, EA's pigskin prognosticator, has emerged from its burrow just in time to make its annual wintery pick.
And it's going with Pittsburgh.
According to the simulation, the Steelers storm back from an early fourth quarter deficit to narrowly beat the Green Bay Packers, 24-20, nabbing their record seventh Vince Lombardi Trophy. With five catches for 111 yards -- including the game-winning TD -- Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace wins the MVP.
EA Sports has been using Madden to predict the Super Bowl winner for years now, and the famed football franchise is proving eerily good at it. Not only has Madden correctly picked six of the last seven winners, it's actually been quite close on the final scores in a few of them.
Super Bowl XXXVIII
Madden: Patriots 23, Panthers 20
Actual Score: Patriots 32, Panthers 29
Super Bowl XXXIX
Madden: Patriots 47, Eagles 31
Actual score: Patriots 24, Eagles 21
Super Bowl XL
Madden: Steelers 24, Seahawks 19
Actual score: Steelers 21, Seahawks 10
Super Bowl XLI
Madden: Colts 38, Bears 27
Actual score: Colts 29, Bears 17
Super Bowl XLII -- WHOOPS
Madden: Patriots 38, Giants 30
Actual score: Giants 17, Patriots 14
Super Bowl XLIII
Madden: Steelers 28, Cardinals 24
Actual score: Steelers 27, Cardinals 23
Super Bowl XLIV
Madden: Saints 35, Colts 31
Actual score: Saints 31, Colts 17
So it botched the underdog Giants victory in 2008, but check out the scores of the two recent Pittsburgh wins. Madden might not be Grays Sports Almanac, but with that kind of track record, we're not inclined to bet against it.

Madden '11 is wrong. That's all I have to say.
Re: Madden 11' predicts the Steelers to win the super bowl.
This will not happen. I just don't see the steelers beating the packers. They might lead for a bit of the game but in the end its going to be the packers.

Re: Madden 11' predicts the Steelers to win the super bowl.
superbowl aside im starting to look at how much madden has changed over the years and the last madden i had was madden 1999 for gamecube and looking at the details of madden '11 they have grown so much of course yes it has been 12 years and alot of advancements have been made but the actual game itself has increased in such detail that its mind blowing

Re: Madden 11' predicts the Steelers to win the super bowl.
As much as I want the Packers to win, I think it's eerie how close the games have been on some of the past Super Bowls.

Aside from Superbowl discussion...I think Madden '11 looks like a lot of fun. The graphics look really awesome.

I don't know man, I'm unsure if it exceeds the gaming experience delivered by my Madden 2002.
Re: Madden 11' predicts the Steelers to win the super bowl.

Madden 11 really is fun. I have not like the newer Madden's due to how technical they are becoming, but 11 was really fun. Especially the franchise mode.

Re: Madden 11' predicts the Steelers to win the super bowl.
I played it a few weeks ago, as my brother Marcus bought it. I haven't been able to play it lately due to lack of time, but I was doing a franchise with the Rams. I like to pick the worst team in the game, and work them up through Franchise. But I might just do one for the Chiefs since they aren't so hot in the game either.

Re: Madden 11' predicts the Steelers to win the super bowl.
Ya for a while they were getting way to technical. The game became a little to challenging and took all the fun out of it.
