Re: **OFFICIAL** Chiefs Thread
Dwayne Bowe was back in practice today, but there is still no sign of waters.
Re: **OFFICIAL** Chiefs Thread
Well, that is half good! My hope has risen a little bit now. I really hope KC can pull it off.

Actually, according to the Kansas City star, the flu has been spreading around the Chiefs players, I hope it does not affect anyone else before Sunday's game.

Re: **OFFICIAL** Chiefs Thread
A shitty team showed up today. It's so unpredictable and we have no reliance on them playing well. This is a real disappointment after the turn-around this season.
Re: **OFFICIAL** Chiefs Thread
Yeah, it is. But at least we made it to the playoffs. That is better than what many were expecting.

Re: **OFFICIAL** Chiefs Thread
Well, Tom Brady pulled out of the pro bowl due to foot surgery, and Matt Cassel was put in as his replacement. I wish I could be happier, but I cannot quite get the flavor of his last two games out of my mouth.
Re: **OFFICIAL** Chiefs Thread
All I have to say is, Congrats! I hope he has fun and cherishes the experience of working with All Star caliber plays at the Pro Bowl.

Re: **OFFICIAL** Chiefs Thread
Examining the Chiefs success within the Pro Bowl
The Pro Bowl is generally a laugher as players take it easy on each other and there is a revolving door of position players in and out of the game. This year was no different. The NFC got out to a 42-0 lead and then hung on for a 55-41 victory in Honolulu.
Chiefs players were a mixed bag at the game. Cassel threw two of the five interceptions for the AFC but also had two touchdown passes. Cassel's first touchdown pass was on a short crossing route with a few minutes left in the game.
His second was perhaps the weirdest play in Pro Bowl history. Cassel threw to teammate Bowe who lateraled the ball to an AFC teammate who lateraled to center Alex Mack(notes) of the Browns who scored. The NFC defense stood around as the game was already won. It was all for fun anyway.
In the end, Cassel was five for 12 and 95 yards including the final play. He did better than Peyton Manning(notes) who saw limited action.
Bowe had a decent game as he caught four passes for 54 yards, second on the team as far as yardage. Jamaal Charles was the workhorse running back for the AFC as he ran 10 times for 72 yards and a touchdown. His eight yard romp was the first score for the AFC in a game that was already over. His score made it 42-7.
It was a banner day for the offense even though Berry's play on defense as a rookie was understandable. Perhaps he was caught up in the moment a little more than other players since he was just done with his first year as a pro. It's the Pro Bowl, right?
There are other important things to thing about now. The collective bargaining agreement expires March 3, 2011, not even four weeks after the Super Bowl. Both the commissioner and the NFL Players' Association have scheduled a series of meetings beginning Super Bowl weekend. Players and owners are both expecting a lock out of the players after the current collective bargaining agreement is reached.
The Chiefs have a draft coming up. How will they go in the draft? If it's like last year, they will go for someone fast, quick and can make an immediate impact. Hopefully there will even be a draft in April after the labor talks continue.

I am worried about the agreement right now. I really do hope this problem will be solved fast, though it will be unlikely.

Congrats to Jamaal Charles...2010 FedEX Ground NFL Player of the Year

The Chiefs would not have come close to making the playoffs without him.
