Rap/Hip-Hop?

First topic message reminder :

What's your opinion on Rap/Hip-Hop? Personally, I cannot stand it. It has taken over in mainstream music, and for all the wrong reasons. What is popular today does not contain any lyrical message worth listening to, nor does it require any instrumental knowledge (unless you count mixing samples).

I mean, it's just my opinion, but if you like it, what is the appeal?

I'm familiar with Immortal Technique. Dance With The Devil (or w/e) is a VERY deep song. I've listened to that a few times, and had chills every time.

I listen to it at least once a week and still get chills every time.

I'm not against rap/hip-hop, but I'm more for stuff that isn't cop killa gangsta pimp a ho music, I really like matisyahu, he's a jewish rapper. I will give you a sampling from one of his songs

I just would rather have a motivating theme in it, or something like that

Lol....sometimes that "kill a cop" stuff is motivation for some people.

Haha, I guess so, I meant motivation to me. But if everybody liked the same thing the world would be boring. I'm really starting to sound like my dad.
