Great Music DVDs Empty Great Music DVDs

I'm currently watching Between the Buried and Me's live set of their album Colors and some selective songs they put at the end. This is a wonderful DVD and the quality is amazing. I'm now waiting for the DVD of The Great Misdirect to finish downloading.

Among others, though, I don't think there will ever be one to beat The Black Dahlia Murder's Majesty. Even a person who's not a fan of metal could enjoy this DVD because it really depicts band life and how they make it through each and every day.

Another decent one is The Auricular Chronicles by Aborted. The quality is pretty decent and they play a large variety of songs from most of the albums.

The Killers - Live at Royal Albert Hall. I've watched this thing enough times that I even have the small talk Brandon makes between each song memorized.

Even if you hate Michael Jackson, it's still interesting to watch the musician's final days.

Opeth - In Live Concert At The Royal Albert Hall.

Great Music DVDs Opeth+Live+1

After two months of rehearsing leading up to this concert, Opeth shows the pure depth of their talent in this two set, two and a half hour show. The first set of the concert is composed of their breakthrough work, "Blackwater Park" in its entirety, while the second set took a selected song from each of their other albums in chronological order.

As amazing as their first set is, Opeth shows the scope of their brilliance in the second set, where they perform rarely played masterpieces from each of their other albums. The peak of the show arguably comes when they play their most complicated song from the Still Life album, known as "The Moor." A magnificent track from my favorite album, this song exemplifies Opeth's affinity for quick tempo changes, and shifting a track from unrepentant brutality to breathtaking beauty within a matter of seconds.

The Dvd also contains a hilarious behind the scenes look of Opeth on tour, this captures the band eating, meeting the fans, and a spinal tap esque moment of Mikael getting lost backstage. The Dvd also features a 45 minute interview with Opeth's lead singer, Mikael Akerfeldt, where he answers a collection of fan questions about the band.

In my opinion, it's as good as a Live DVD can be, and I would recommend it to absolutely everyone.

Song summary -> The main character explains how the Council of the Cross excommunicated from his village fifteen years ago because he lacked faith in a divine creator. When he was banished, he was taken away from his bride and told to never return. This song explains his desire to take his true love away from the village and to marry her away from the clutches of the Council of the Cross.
