Perfect bf/gf traits
Yeah what would yours be?
Mine:
Loves animals and kids, (but wants to wait off for children for awhile), intelligent, has an accent of sorts, healthy body weight, a wee strong physically, humble, but nice. Has strong opinions. Music taste I don't really care about. At least kind of pretty, doesn't have to be a bombshell.

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
Loves music, video games, books. Gotta be really geeky and willing to goto Comicon or something in the near future. I love brown hair and brown/hazel eyes. Gotta love to kiss and cuddle and be faithful. I prefer her a little on the chunky side, I don't like skinny.

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
She ...
is a vegan, or open to becoming one.
is against alcohol.
is against tobacco.
is against drugs.
is against promiscuity.
does not want children. Period.
does not want pets.
does not want a television.
does not want much furniture (it's overrated.)
is cool with alternative energy sources to be implemented in things such as "house" and "transportation."
is more reserved than I, but willing to try different things.
is artistic in at least one way (art, music, writing, etc)
enjoys reading.
loves being outside [in the shade xD]
loves dark, cloudy skies.
loves the rain, and when I say "rain," I mean "torrential downpour.
enjoys singing, regardless of what her voice may sound like.
is strong-willed, but not blatantly defiant.
is positive and constructive
is pale.
is cute
My standards are too damned high. I'm probably going to be single forever xD

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
I said not much. I came to this conclusion after reading Fight Club xD I don't want to be tied down to a residence when I can just spend my time in the world in which we all live. Why confine one's self to a house with furniture? Who needs a recliner without a television? Maybe a ghetto couch or something, but nothing special. I'm not sure if I want a dinner table or not xD Probably :p
I'll decide what I need when I need it.

Hmmm, I really don't have any really, I just tell if I am attracted to them when I see them and if I like their personality when I meet them and get to know them.

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
For a partner, I couldn't care less what they looked like, or what gender they were as long as he\she was: Honest, intelligent, open-minded, ambitious, forgiving, understanding, respectful, had a sense of humor, fair, a decent listener, the basics really. I've never thought much beyond that. I guess I always see things in the long run and focus more on the inside than the outside.
Healthy coping habits is a must. I've had to much experience with a person who screamed, self harmed, smoked, broke things etc whenever they got upset to deal with it again. I just can't stand angry people lol

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
Yeah, constant angry or negative people is something I look to try to avoid in gfs, they just don't seem like someone I want to spend my life with.`Someone who is constantly yelling, complaining, whining, and just not enjoying the positives they have. I understand if you are going through a rough time, which everybody does. But if you are picking out and making a big deal about the negatives way more often than the positives, than you are not for me.

Those are really awesome traits to watch out for, and I agree with both of you. Coping skills are wonderful in a person, but tempered coping skills are always a sign of maturity in the individual. I think the ability to think things through before acting them out is a key attribute to a healthy relationship.
Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
I agree with the coping skills, I don't want to be with a girl who breaks plates to get over things. :S

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
I would prefer to think of a relationship as owning one another. I feel like there are strict obligations you hold to one another, especially after being together for a long time - maybe not so necessarily at the beginning.
If you're in a long relationship with someone and they aren't giving themselves to you I think that that's a problem.

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
Thats how another friend of mine Devin is. I would have to agree with this also though. Its just pointless to be together if you aren't fully committed or attempting to be. Like you said early on you cant judge that but after a certain amount of time it should be obvious.

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
I agree completely. Long-term relationships are a huge responsibility and to a degree you need to make sacrifices to make it work. You are committing so much of your life to one person, and expecting the same in return, so it isn't something you can only do halfway. Obviously if you have to sacrifice every aspect of your life to make your partner happy, that is a problem, but you can't expect life to go on exactly like it did when you were single. You need to commit and you need to work, but it is more than worth it.

Yeah, you can't just say, "I am gonna be husband" and just do nothing. You have to earn and act as the title you take in.

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
Well, even before marriage I would contend that those obligations should take root. I don't think there as strong of a conception about how that person will behave until you see it BEFORE the big "commitment."
Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
I completely agree, that's why I'm totally for living together before marriage. It's like a trial run. You don't really know someone until you live with them.

Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
Even if it doesn't work out, I think you also learn some very pertinent life lessons from living with another person. Whether it's for a relationship or not, you really develop tolerance skills.
Re: Perfect bf/gf traits
Oh for sure. You are never gonna have the exact same living habits as someone else, compromising needs to always happen.
