I voted for "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds. That is definitely one of my most favorites songs of the 80's.
I also went with "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News, and I went with "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits.

Man...these last two years have really had songs I have no interest in. I'll try to come up with a vote...
Re: Top Mainstream Rock Tracks Number One Hit Song's Tournament-1985
I find most of the songs on these charts to be songs I'm not a big fan of but I can usually find three that are good enough for me to vote on.

Re: Top Mainstream Rock Tracks Number One Hit Song's Tournament-1985
Eh, not a great year, in my opinion. By this time the rugged sound of the seventies had evanesced to the poor production of the eighties..but, after much contemplation, I came up with these three votes.
"Don't you forget about me" by Simple Minds- (This vote was heavily influences by "The Breakfast Club"
"Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits, Eh, it's not my favorite from Dire Straits, but, eh, it's one of the better ones on the list.
"Somebody" by Bryan Adams...This one was a stretch.

My votes went to:
All She Wants to do is Dance: This brings back a lot of childhood memories since my Mom was really into this song.
Don't You (Forget About Me): The Breakfast Club, need I say more?
Sleeping Bag: I generally like ZZ Top's sound. They have their 80's moments, but there are is also a strong tinge of the 70's which is something I enjoy to a certain extent.
Not the best year for me, but there was merit in the votes.

I picked the Old Man Down the Road because it's the one solo Fogerty song I enjoy because it sounds like classic CCR. Don't You Forget About Me is obvious why I picked it. And The Power of Love I chose because of Back to the Future

Re: Top Mainstream Rock Tracks Number One Hit Song's Tournament-1985
I happy for the postive turnout for "Don't You" as that is a major favorite and what I see as one of the greatest of the 80's. I am expecting this to be a big player in the grand finale.
