Emily Dickinson Empty Emily Dickinson

Post by Donald Williams Mon Jul 06, 2009 10:25 pm

She is really one of my favorite writers. Her despondent, solemn intricate writing reflects the tragic events which happened throughout her life. Both of her parents died at a young age, and then the only person she ever loved died soon after. She turned her entire focus to writing. Never intending for anybody to read it, she wrote for an escape to her soul. When she was about to die, she asked her sister to burn all of her writing. A wish that was never fulfilled.
A man ended up finding emily dickinson's writing and actually editing it because he felt it didn't suit the modern era of writing. He was soon discovered, as was the incredible writing of dickinson's
The melancholic passages written from the ink of emily's quill is enough to inspire any young writer. In my own times of sadness I find that I too mirror her morose style.
