Anyone here write music? I've been playing around on Finale NotePad 2008 and I'm having a blasty blast. I'm working on a hardcore style song that I may add death metal vocals to later. We'll have to see how far I go. I've got a drum set, guitar, and some mics, so it wouldn't be too hard to record after I write it. I'm not sure if I have any digital recording media...I don't think the 'rents would appreciate me bringing my tower down two levels in our house, and there's no way I'm going old school with the tape deck.

I write riffs and exercises on guitar sometimes in tab form. I'll post some the next time I think of it. Unfortunately I just broke a string, so I'll have to wait until my ordered set comes in.

I adore working with Finale notepad, though the actual program is waaaaaaaaaay better and easier to work with. I'll write tabs every once in a while, I really do hate writing out tabs for guitar, but some days, it must be done.

My whole understanding of music isn't as hot as it should be, since I was a percussionist primarily forever. I'm trying though, haha. I do alright, but I still feel like it's a setback.

Do you know if you can change the tuning for guitar or whatnot? I'm not entirely sure.

Here, let me rephrase, lol.

In the Finale NotePad program, is there a nifty function to lower the tuning of a guitar when tabbing? Or shall I continue to just go with writing out the notes?

Tab would be easier b/c I wouldn't need to mess with the transcription in my head, haha
