Racist words
This is a true story.
Important background knowledge: I'm a jewboy.
I was playing football on a Saturday in winter with a bunch of friends, when a black kid walked by. We asked him if he wanted to play, and he accepted our invitation. After the game, I was talking to him (his name was Edward) and I was upset at how strict my dad was being.
I said, "It's really pissing me off how my dad is really tightening the noose around my neck."
To which he replied, "Yo, that's really not okay."
"What?"
"You can't say noose, man, that word is racist. You know how slaves and blacks got hung."
I was kind of annoyed at how stupid that is, but I accepted it (barely).
Then he started complaining about the cold weather.
So I said, "Edward, just go into your house. It's definitely warmer than it is out here."
To which he responded, "Nah, it's colder. The heat isn't working."
"What's wrong?"
"The gas line is broken or leaking or whatever."
Remembering the noose comment, I said, "C'mon man, that's not okay."
He said, "What?"
"Gas. 6,000,000 of my people died from gas! It's racist."
And he shut up.

Re: Racist words
Haha, it's unfortunate to have to be rascist as a combatant, but when someone throws it at you when it's not really necessary then the comeback can be justified.
Good one.

Re: Racist words
I hate the notion a word being "racist." racial slurs really shouldn't even be called that. why should anyone take offense to words anyways? black people are always like your racist for sayin the "N" word. yet every day you hear them use the same word in music (or lack thereof) and even at school. purely hypocritical. and even if you are racist and proud of it, you're allowed to voice your opinions, in fact, entitled to voice your opinions. I'm not supporting a racist cause, I'm just saying I'm tired of our cultures undying fascination with it.

Re: Racist words
Yeah, I agree with that. The goal of having no rascism in this world is a joke, because people will always be hypocrites.
Re: Racist words
I'm half Latino and I rarely take offense to racist words or racism at all. I know the people that do see other races as lesser people, they're just ignorant and if anything should be pittied for that.
Re: Racist words
I agree. While there are still idiots like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson around to label innocuous terms and phrases and words as "racism" then racism will still exist. When they die, I think a large part of racism will too.

Re: Racist words
Yeah I think racism will never
be delt with. Especially when
everyone takes the race issue
way to far. Suddenly everything
you do or say is racist.

Re: Racist words
It's all thanks to society's need to be politically correct at all times.

Re: Racist words
I like to think that if you're TRYING to be politically correct, you're more likely to lean on the side of incorrect.
Re: Racist words
Reminds me of a saying... "Those who fear racism the most are often those who spawn racism themselves."
Not sure who said it, but it works for me...

Re: Racist words
Like I said before, racism doesn't really bother me all that much, but there's a few people I know that just take it to another level. There's one particular guy I know who is a self admitted racist and quite proud of it. I hear tale of how he says he once beat up 5 Mexicans (he's lying). And how he hates black people, but for some reason doesn't mind them in professional sports. He's even said he admires his grandfather because he used to sit on his front porch and shoot black people when they walked on his yard. He says all these things, but yet when he's actually around people of a different race, he acts like he's not racist at all. It just amazes me how hypocritical and ignorant people can be.
