Power Naps Empty Power Naps

Post by Donald Williams Fri Dec 17, 2010 10:03 am

So, yesterday, I decided to take a powernap after a bout of drowsiness. Looking forward to my refreshment after 20 minutes of slumber, I fell to sleep at around six pm. However, due to an unfortunate mishap with my alarm clock, I ended up waking up around 6:30 the following morning.

While this is not the quintessential example of a restoring powernap, this incident made me wonder if anyone from TG relies upon this activity.

I try to avoid them because I always feel like I will fall into the same situation that happened to you, sleeping for too long. I take minor power naps, where I don't really fall asleep, I just lay in the spot for about an hour so. I will usually listen to music, watch tv, or just think and/or daydream. It is very relaxing.

My naps are more like mini sleeps - up to three or four hours basically. It's impossible for me to sleep at night...I only have luck falling asleep at 4 am at the very earliest. I'm used to sleeping 4 or 5 hours in the morning, going to class, then coming home and sleeping for 2-4 hours.

I just took a 2.5 hour power nap myself.

I really don't like taking naps because they generally make me feel really shitty when I wake up, but this one was necessary. Razz
