Why?

Is it just me or has anyone else possibly noticed that schools over block sites? for instance i was doing a reseach paper on trapping and the affect it has on the invornment and i wasent even able to look up alot of stuff because the fact that a trap is a so called "weapon"

What are you talking about? Our school allows unfiltered access to three entire websites! (It used to be four, but they decided that the discovery channel website was a tad too risque for high school consumption.)

Lol, jk, but yeah, it is overkill, but at least TG is accessible from the confines of school!

I agree. It's becoming so ridiculous, and part of the issue I have with it is that they also limit server bandwidth so much that it screws up the formatting on half the sites we get to visit anyways.

Your school just blocks websites?

Ours un-blocks them.
(It seriously seems like they automatically block everything and just unblock what's needed.)

Yeah, I hate using the internet at school. I also hate using TG there too. It is very irritating.

Something I find hilarious - in 9th grade I penetrated the firewall system and got onto porn via proxy and set a porn picture as default for the school's desktop wallpaper for like a day. They never figured out it was me either.

Sneaky. We had a kid write his own proxy, but then he put his name on it so by the time everyone in the school started using it he was suspended for it...
