English paragraph I had to write about my hero
See if ya guys like it
My hero is Rene Descartes, and this means I am skeptical, always
thinking, theorising and constantly questioning. I am never satisfied with "easy"
answers without strong evidence to it. I prefer doubt over illusions. Much of
my own beliefs coincide with his. I believe there is a solid truth to everything. We
will probably never uncover them all by the end of humanity. My interests in his
philosophies began when I searched for past historical figures of deep-thinking
to find someone of similar reasoning. His theories of solipsism and self
organisation clearly illustrate everything I feel. My only discordance with his
thinking was towards his faulty logic supporting the existence of a supreme
omnipotent deity. Descartes remains as a greatly respected individual to me.
Unfortunately, as he is underrated as a philosopher, his perspectives are not as
beneficial to others as they should be, as I think he could have a positive influence
upon others increasing free-thought, questioning and perhaps finding a higher
understanding.
