Smoking. Empty Smoking.

Post by Spishnittlestick Fri Sep 05, 2008 7:19 pm

ok, so I'm kind of depressed.

One of my friends, now in college, has decided to start smoking. I'm getting pretty upset about it. It's even worse that he used to rep sXe, and now smokes and drinks (He's 18 or 19. 18 I think).

He was such a good friend, but it feels like I'm kinda losing him.

I hate it.

Ever had a friend start smoking/drinking/drugging/whatever? What happened?

I'm really sad about this! I really am! I talk to him, but he's pretty stubborn about this stuff sometimes.

Spishnittlestick: since when do you smoke?

Oh..man...
My grandma just died from complications due to smoking. Lung related. She was in such bad shape when she died. It was horrible, she would gasp at every word, and get tired so quickly.
So we were cleaning out her house a few weeks ago and we removed some lanterns on the wall revealing the outline of the lanterns; the smoke had discolored the walls. Then we removed the bench which had been there 30 years; where the legs had been it was completely white. But before you came to the spot where the legs were, the carpet changed slowly from a light brown, to the color of burnt sugar. The carpet had only been there 5 years or so.

Smoking is so disgusting.

Yeah.

Kind of ironic really. That guy left a comment on myspace titled "Constantine" and he apologized for snapping at someone. Idk, it could have been me, but I kinda doubt it. My last name is Constance, so it's close.

The ironic part is the fact that I just watched Constantine and Keanu Reeves practically kills himself throughout the movie with hardcore smoking, lol.

It's bad enough that the kid I'm talking about used to have four monsters a day (yes, four.). I wish he would take better care of himself. I'll have to talk to him about it more.

Well, my brother started smoking when he was 19, stopped about 6 months later. He was pretty good about it, though. He'd make a pack last about a week and would only smoke outside, in the middle of nowhere (unlike most f***tards who smoke RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOOR of a NON-SMOKING building!!!!).

As far as friends, I have quite a few who started weed over the summer, one who's been on shrooms, meth, LCD, etc. for about a year now, and apparently a lot of them have gotten wasted quite a few times.
Ah well, it's their lives. As long as they keep me out of it, I'll let them kill themselves all they want. Besides, they're more like acquaintances than friends....except for the one on meth and shrooms and all that, he's a friend and a fellow band member. (Though I think he deals more than he uses, he doesn't act all too different than he did in 1st grade as far as I can remember.)

As I've seen on the internet: "Don't smoke, there are cooler ways to die faster."

It's his choice if he wants to smoke or not. There's not much you can do about it, but just keep him as your friend. It would be pointless to lose a good friend because of cigarettes. If anything, just tell him to not smoke around you or decline a cigarette if he offers you one. It might show him that you're above the influence and that you don't need to rely on vices to get through the day. Who knows? Maybe it'll open his eyes. Best of luck to you, man.

I'll be the first to admit I don't have the cleanest of backgrounds, but I'm pretty sure I'll never take up smoking. I just don't see the point in it at all.

Same here. I'll social smoke with a few buddies, but I try not to make it a habit. But, according to man law, you have to smoke at least one premium cigar sometime in your life. I've yet to do so.
