Post by JJwells Fri Feb 18, 2011 1:06 pm

Ok so last I went and bought a flash drive so that I could write papers at home then take them to school the next day. But I have now ran into sort of a problem. The school computers dont have the new microsoft word that my new computer does so I cant really transfer it over to the microsoft at the school. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Your help would be awesome!

All you need to do is save your Word document as a .doc instead of .docx.

This can be accomplished by going to:

Save As --> Click the pull-down arrow on 'Save-ass Type' (will be located underneath where you would type a document title) --> Click Microsoft Word Document 97-2003

You can check to make sure it saved correctly by going to the destination where it was saved and hovering your mouse over the file. A tan or white box should appear with file details. This is indicate whether or not it's .docx or Windows 97-03.

EDIT: Lol @ Save-ass. That was a mistake. Not changing it. Razz
