Parental Relationships

No, I'm not asking for really personal stories here, but I'm curious about what fellow TGers think of their relationship with their parents.

I, for one, feel at odds with my mother as of late because we are sort of polarized by my desire for independence and her desire to keep me around as often as possible. I also feel rather disconnected with my Dad because he has been in a different state for the better part of the last entire year. We get along fine...but things are full of tension with my mother and I don't even really feel like talking with my Dad anymore because of the lack of communication in the first place.

Ya that has to be rough..

I feel like im on a good level with my parents but then at other times i'm not certain. Most of the time my mom is the same way with her trying to keep me around. She is getting really protective again and is always worrying about me leaving. My dad seems to be fine with what happens and for a while I felt that we in some ways didnt have the best realationship but now things seem to be going better.

I have a good relationship with my parents

It seems as if my mother is constantly trying to keep me home, which is understandable since there are 5 kids here. I can talk to her about most things you normally can't talk about with other mothers. But sometimes, serious conversations turn into how she thinks I am trying to tell here she is wrong or something revolves around what she did. But overall, our relationship is okay.

My dad is the kind that usually has to be right, and sometimes that butts heads with me, as I always try to prove I am right, though I am usually not. Our relationship is okay.

My biological is in prison for the second time in his life. I won't see out of jail until I am in my 30's. I haven't spoken with him for awhile, and when I do it is a few minute conversation on the phone or a few letters back and forth.
