On the job secrets Empty On the job secrets

Post by Donald Williams Fri Jan 28, 2011 12:34 pm

For me, the employees at my previous job were supposed to keep track of how long certain items were in the salad bar. However, the containers of each item were changed twice a day, and in the rush of the day, nobody kept track of the original dates that were on the 10 original inserts. So, often, nobody would have any idea how long certain vegetables had been chillin in the salad bar.

Ooops, so, what are some of the secrets you have kept about a past job of yours?

That is rather gross.

At my place of work normally whenever you drop a utensil of somthing along those lines if no one sees you do it you pick it up and just brush it off instead of washing it.. rather gross I try my best not to do this, but when you are in a hurry sometimes it just happens.

My last job could have been considered notorious for malpractice if anyone ever cared to notice. Cleaning didn't get done unless I did it. Crock pots of food would sit and mold for days on end. Some employees made acid bombs from the special aluminum brightener we used, and the list goes ON and ON.

I work at the same place as Jake and as dishwasher, we might get lazy at times. I try my best to wash dishes, as I want to be the best at what I do at Ken's. But when things drop.....it doesn't happen. And every now and then when I am in the hurry when something is still on the dish after the wash, I pick it off, rinse in water, and go. But I don't do that very often, as I feel guilty and nasty after.

Yes, they were. They were super loud and if one had blown up in someone's hand...well...bye bye, hand.

You have me intrigued, do you have any more stories of a similar nature?

A lot of guys peed in the drain of bay...and we were supposed to be a food-grade facility. Although, even I don't think that had the potential to effect anything.

Most of the time, there was one guy doing all of the work if it wasn't too busy while the rest would sit in the lounge and watch TV.

If a server would ever accidentally include tomatoes or peppers to an omelette which was specially ordered not to include those items, the cook would simply pick that veggie out, rather than creating an entirely new omelette.

Yeah, lol. On pizzas that have toppings that shouldn't be on there, the cooks pick them out as well!
