The Golden Compass Series

Post by TheSubtleKnife on Thu Aug 07, 2008 12:28 am

These books are so beautifully written, the story flows so well, and the final book is so incredible, unlike Harry Potter and the "Incredible amount of Dues ex machinas". Seriously, I deeply encourage everyone to purchase these books, the movie does not do it justice.

I didn't like the movie at all, but I must agree with you. The books are phenomenal.

The story gets better and better as you go, and the plot is so unpredictable. My favorite book was the last one, The Amber Spyglass. That entire book is just incredible.

The movie looked stupid from the trailers I've seen but everyone says the books are amazing so I might have to check it out.

I've read the first one, and really want to get the second, it sounds really good from what I've heard.

I'm thinking about revisiting this series.

I think the first time I read His Dark Materials was when I became... aware as a human being. It's heavy.
