What are you currently reading?

Post by Cjanz on Wed Jul 23, 2008 5:35 pm

First topic message reminder :

For me, it's 1984 for my summer book report. I'm really enjoying it, in fact, I'll probably finish it soon.

Today I picked up Breaking Dawn at the library.

And finished it.

All 750+ pages. I loved every bit of it.

The Twilight series is the BEST I've come across. Eragon was good and all, but the twilight series gets an 11/10.

I'm reading A Single Shard. It's a Newberry Award winner, so my teacher wanted me to read it.

I read A Single Shard a couple years ago or so. I actually liked it -- I think I read it around the time it won the award? ... I don't remember exactly.

I just finished The Catcher In The Rye, I now have possession of The Scarlet Letter, and I have started Why Things Fail by Paul Ormerod. After Why Things Fail I should have The End Of Faith by Sam Harris.

TCITR was for school, as is TSL. Other stuff is just interesting for when I'm not writing essays and stuff :-P

I've been reading a bit of poetry lately after I finally got rid of 1984. I currently have Where the Sidewalk Ends (By Shel Silverstein) but I'm looking for The 100 Best Poems of All Time (By Leslie Pockell).

It's actually where the band Silverstein got their name :p They even have a song where they take lines from Shel's poems.

Fight Club.

Chuck Palahniuk is the best author ever.

I've read Choke and Invisible Monsters, and adored them both.

Ughhh, it's amazing.

I'm finishing reading The Shining. I checked it out late in the school year and only got about a fourth of it read before I had to turn all my books in.
